Your abandoned cart email may have almost nobody to send to
Before rewriting the copy, work out how many people are actually eligible. On one store the addressable pool was about eight people a month.
Do the arithmetic first
On a store doing roughly 7,500 sessions a month: 46 checkout starts in the window, 35 completed orders, about 80 percent completion. That leaves an addressable abandoned cart pool of roughly eight people a month. Eight. No subject line fixes that.
The two different failures
Cart abandonment and browse abandonment fail for different reasons and get treated the same. Cart abandonment is capped by how many people start checkout and do not finish. Browse abandonment is capped by how many visitors the platform can identify at all, which on that account was about 0.8 percent.
What the flow is actually worth
On that same account the cart flow produced $504 from 2 orders on 20 sends. That is a good result on a tiny denominator, and it is the wrong place to spend the next hour.
Where the hour belongs
Raising completion rate, and raising identification rate so more of the traffic is reachable in the first place. Both feed every flow downstream. This is why capture sits at stage three of the method and not at the end.
