How do I get my Shopify store cited by ChatGPT and other AI engines?
Make the store reachable, say something only you can say, and measure whether you are named. There is no file or markup that buys a citation. The highest certainty step is confirming GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended can actually fetch your pages, which almost nobody checks.
Reachability first
Crawlers can be blocked at the server or the CDN without anyone knowing. It is unglamorous, it is binary, and it is the one step that is worth doing before anything else.
A catalog is not an article
Most advice on this is written for software companies and assumes your value is explained in prose. A store's value is in specifics: cut, weight, breed, grade, shipping window. If that detail only exists inside a variant picker, an engine has nothing to quote.
Measure mentions and citations separately
